Tallinn airport lowers taxes: Ryanair a step closer?

Tallinn airport has announced a drop of almost 10% in the landing taxes which it charges to airlines, effective from March 2008. It is as yet unclear whether these savings will be passed on to customers, although one side effect may be to make Tallinn more appealing to Ryanair.

Retro tram proves popular in Riga

Standby News reports that the new Art Nouveau style tram, which started to take passengers just two weeks ago, has already been used by almost 1000 people. Running between the Central Market and Anatomical Theatre, the service has been criticized as being too expensive – tickets cost fifteen times the tariff for ordinary trams.

Visitors to Riga set to travel in Art Nouveau style

Aer Lingus links Dublin and Vilnius

Irish national airline Aer Lingus has now started flights between Vilnius and Dublin. Flights depart from the Irish capital on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday afternoons and return in the evenings.

New coach route to link Riga and Narva

Intercity bus operator Eurolines has announced that from 20th June it will run a daily bus service between the Latvian capital Riga and the Estonian town of Narva. The journey will take 7 hours each way:
