Demonstration at Latvian embassy in Lisboa, Portugal

Posted on June 2nd, 2007 · 1 comment

As mentioned in one of the comments on this site, a peaceful demonstration has been organised at the Latvian embassy in Lisboa by the friends of some of the young men still imprisoned in Riga. It will begin today at 6pm local time. Although the comment mentions demonstrations in other cities, I have not received confirmation of this.

Since the posts on this case have received so many comments, I thought that it would be helpful to link to the various posts here:

Today, after after 20 days in prison, the last tree men were released on bail. This means that four men are still in Riga and awaiting trial. The date of the trial has not yet been set and the accustaion has not been corrected from “damaging” to “stealing” the flags.
